Straighten Up in a Flash

Updated: Jan 13, 2021

I am not a fussy person. I prefer lipstick stain because I am not likely to remember to freshen my lips later in the day. I do my makeup in the morning in under 10 minutes and that is how I look for the day. The same goes for my hair. I choose hair styles that can easily be pulled back and can be styled straight, kind of straight (for those days I really don't feel like doing much to it) or curled. I need versatility but I don't want to put much work into it.

I have used a hair straightening iron for years, but I find it so time consuming. So, for Christmas this year I got an Instlyler Straight Up Ceramic Straightening Brush. The packaging promises ”smooth, straight, frizz-free hair in half the time it takes to use a flat iron.” I feel like they made this just to me!

It heats up very fast, about 30 seconds! There are multiple temperature choices so you can select the temperature that is right for your hair texture . I have medium thickness hair so I chose the 350-degree setting, which is in the middle of the heat range.

The verdict: I went from slightly damp hair to nice smooth, fully dry, straight hair in literally 5 minutes of brushing. Seriously, I used a stopwatch app to time how long it took. The advertisement is “half the time of a flat iron.“. A flat iron usually takes me closer to 20 minutes, so it actually takes a quarter of the time for me.

It is very easy to use. If you can brush your hair you can use this straightener. It does get hot, so be careful. I find the tips of the brush bristles aren’t very hot but if you get your fingers between them you will feel the burn, and not in a good way. Some of brush stylers come with gloves. If you use the hotter settings wearing a cotton glove would be a good idea.

I used the brush the next day without washing my hair again and it only took 3 minutes to get smooth locks.

Even though it gets hot , I feel like it is overall healthier for my hair since the heat doesn’t stay in one place as long as a flat iron. It also gives my hair more body than a flat iron.

At a price of about $60 the amount of time savings with great results makes it well worth the price!

If you need a quicker and easier way to straighten your hair I recommend the Instlyler Straight Up Ceramic Straightening Brush. it is easy to use and will give you smooth hair in minutes! It also comes in a mini version if you need something more compact.

Happy styling!
